Tasting Notes:  Notes of berry, plum, soft boozy wine and orange throughout. A full body and winey acidity move to a soft whiskey, almond and lime finish.

Background Information: This coffee is produced at a washing station nestled in the scenic hills of Huye, a district in southern Rwanda known for its excellent coffee-growing conditions.  Situated at 1,700 meters above sea level, the station benefits from a combination of high altitude, fertile soil, and consistent rainfall, creating an ideal environment for producing high-quality coffee.  The Rwandan Horizon Supreme was acquired in late 2018 by Fidele, an experienced coffee processor who had previously managed washing stations in western Rwanda.  When he purchased the facility, it had been out of operation for several years. However, with Fidele’s expertise and strategic investment in equipment and maintenance, Horizon Supreme quickly rose to prominence for its quality coffee.  For this natural processed coffee, the cherries are dried whole on raised beds, developing deeper, more intense fruit Flavors with a fuller body.  Fidele’s dedication to quality and his vision for the station are reflected in the name “Horizon,” symbolising his forward-looking approach to processing coffee.  His goal is to not only maintain high quality but also increase production volume, having processed two containers in his first year of operations.  With a focus on expanding capacity and reaching new markets, Horizon Supreme is poised to grow while continuing to produce exceptional coffees.
